Privacy Policy.
How samuraiguns.com handles your information, in plain English. Short version: this site collects very little, we don’t sell any of it, and you can ask us to see, correct or delete it at any time.
This is the privacy policy for samuraiguns.com. It follows the same rules as the Second of Ten privacy policy for sotarms.com and adds what is specific to this site. Purchases are made in our store at sotarms.com, where the Second of Ten Legal & Privacy policy applies. Read the Second of Ten Legal & Privacy policy →

Privacy Policy
What this site collects, where it comes from, who sees it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
Which Site This Covers
This Privacy Policy covers samuraiguns.com, the Samurai Series website of Second of Ten LLC. Second of Ten runs this site and is responsible for the information collected on it.
It follows the same rules as the privacy policy for our main site, sotarms.com, and adds what is specific to this site. Sections 01 to 03 are about samuraiguns.com in particular; the sections after them apply to both sites.
Buying happens on sotarms.com. When you order a Samurai Series firearm, magazine or accessory, checkout takes place in the Second of Ten store at sotarms.com, and the information you give there (payment, shipping and FFL details) is covered by the Second of Ten Legal & Privacy policy.
↑ Back to contentsWhat This Site Collects
samuraiguns.com is a showcase and inquiry site. There are no user accounts and no checkout here, so it collects much less than a store does:
- Your inquiry. If you use the Inquire form, we receive your name and email address, and anything else you choose to give us: phone number, state, the firearm you are asking about, your message, and your acknowledgement on the form. We use it to answer you and to follow up on your inquiry.
- Your age confirmation. The age check on arrival does not ask for or keep your date of birth. It only sets a cookie recording that you confirmed you are old enough (see Section 03).
- Bot protection. The Inquire form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated spam. Turnstile runs in your browser and Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to do that check, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Standard server logs. Our web host keeps routine logs of requests to the site (IP address, browser, pages requested and the time) for security and to keep the site running.
We don’t sell any of it, and we don’t use it to train AI or generative-AI models.
↑ Back to contentsCookies on This Site
samuraiguns.com uses only a small number of cookies, all of them needed to make the site work:
- Age-verification cookie (
sot_age_ok): remembers that you confirmed your age so we don’t ask on every page. If you tick “Remember me”, it lasts 30 days; otherwise it ends when you close your browser. - Security and spam-protection cookies: set by Cloudflare Turnstile when you use the Inquire form.
- Site-staff cookies: WordPress login cookies, used only by Second of Ten staff who manage the site.
No analytics or advertising cookies. This site does not currently use analytics cookies, advertising cookies or ad-retargeting pixels. If that ever changes, we’ll update this policy first and provide any opt-out the law requires.
Some pages load files from service providers (for example Cloudflare and our web host, Hostinger). When your browser loads them, those providers receive your IP address and browser information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block the age-verification cookie, the site will ask you to confirm your age again.

What you need to know up front
- We collect what we need to run our business — order info, account info, payment info, FFL-compliance info, and standard website data.
- We don’t sell your information.
- We share only with vendors who help us run the business (FFL dealers, payment processors, shippers) and as required by law.
- You have rights to access, correct, and delete your information. Email dave@secondoften.com to use them.
- We don’t use your information to train AI or generative-AI models.
What We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we collect some or all of:
- Identifiers and contact info: your name, billing and shipping address, email, phone, date of birth, and government ID where required to verify age or complete a regulated transaction.
- Account info: username, hashed password, security questions, preferences, order history.
- Order info: what you viewed, added to cart, bought, returned, or warrantied — order numbers, invoices, payment amounts.
- Payment info: card brand, last four digits, expiration, billing ZIP. The full card number goes directly to our PCI-compliant payment processor — we don’t store it.
- Firearms-compliance info: FFL dealer name and license number, ship-to state, age and residency confirmations, transfer-status info.
- Website technical info: IP address, device type, browser, OS, screen resolution, referring URL, session IDs.
- How you use the site: pages viewed, time on page, clicks, search queries, cart and wishlist activity.
- What you tell us: messages, surveys, chat transcripts, warranty-claim descriptions.
- Marketing preferences: opt-in status, topics of interest, event attendance.
- Stuff you post: reviews, questions, photos, videos, or anything else you submit to the site.
We don’t knowingly collect Social Security numbers, biometrics, precise GPS data, or health information. We don’t intentionally collect data about race, religion, union membership, sexual orientation, or citizenship — except for the limited firearms-eligibility confirmations the law requires.
Where We Get It
- From you directly: when you create an account, place an order, ask a question, or sign up for emails or texts.
- Automatically: from cookies, pixels, server logs, and similar tools when you visit the site.
- From your FFL dealer: transfer status, denials, and non-delivery notices.
- From service providers: payment processors, shippers, fraud-prevention vendors, and the like share transaction and technical data back to us.
- From partners and public sources: advertising platforms, social media (when you engage with our posts or ads), and public business records.
What We Do With It
- Process and fulfill your orders, including coordinating firearm transfers with FFL dealers.
- Run your account and provide customer support.
- Comply with federal, state, and local law — including firearms law, export law, sanctions, and tax law.
- Verify your age, residency, and eligibility where the law requires it.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, account takeover, chargeback abuse, and other unlawful activity.
- Operate, secure, and improve the site.
- Communicate with you about orders, warranty claims, recalls, safety notices, and policy changes.
- Send marketing emails or texts where you’ve allowed us to.
- Personalize content and product recommendations.
- Conduct research, surveys, and product development — usually with aggregated or anonymized data.
- Carry out corporate transactions like financings, mergers, and reorganizations.
Who We Share It With
We share personal information only with the following:
- FFL dealers and licensed firearms dealers, to coordinate firearm transfers and meet their federal recordkeeping requirements.
- Payment processors and fraud-prevention services, to authorize payment and resolve chargebacks.
- Shipping carriers and logistics providers, to deliver products.
- Tax, accounting, and legal advisors who help us comply with the law.
- Email, text, customer-support, analytics, hosting, and security providers, who only use the info for what we tell them to.
- Advertising and marketing partners, to measure how our marketing is working and serve more relevant ads — subject to your choices in Section 09. Today that is measurement only: as Section 09 explains, we don’t currently use advertising cookies or ad-retargeting pixels, and if that changes we’ll update this policy and provide the opt-out the law requires.
- Affiliates and related companies, for the purposes covered here.
- Future buyers or partners, if we go through a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Government agencies and law enforcement, when the law requires it (subpoenas, court orders, search warrants) or when we need to protect ourselves or others.
- Anyone you tell us to share with.
Again: we don’t sell your personal information for monetary consideration.
↑ Back to contentsCookies on sotarms.com
For samuraiguns.com, see Section 03. The rest of this section describes the cookies used on our main site and store, sotarms.com.
Our site uses cookies and similar technology to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. We group them into:
- Strictly necessary cookies: required to make cart, checkout, login, and security work — these can’t be turned off.
- Functional cookies: remember your language, region, and preferences.
- Analytics cookies: help us understand site usage (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Advertising cookies: we do not currently use advertising cookies or ad-retargeting pixels on our site. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide the required opt-out mechanism.
You can manage cookies through your browser, our cookie preference center where available, or through industry opt-out tools. We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out of cross-context behavioral advertising in states where the law recognizes it.
↑ Back to contentsMarketing Emails and Texts
If we have your permission, we may send you marketing emails or texts about new products, promotions, and events. You can opt out anytime:
- Email: click “unsubscribe” in any marketing email, or write to dave@secondoften.com.
- Texts: reply STOP to any marketing text. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
- Push notifications: adjust them in your device or browser settings.
Opting out of marketing doesn’t end transactional messages — order updates, warranty notices, recall notices, and account-security messages still come through.
↑ Back to contentsHow Long We Keep Data
We keep personal information only as long as we need it to do our job, comply with the law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Typical retention:
- Order and invoice records: at least 7 years for tax, accounting, and customer service.
- Warranty records: warranty period plus 4 years.
- FFL records (held by your dealer, not us): for the periods federal law requires.
- Account records: while your account is active, plus a reasonable period after closure for fraud prevention and disputes.
- Marketing engagement: until you opt out or after 24 months of inactivity, whichever is first.
- Server and security logs: usually 12–24 months.
- Job applicant data: through the search and up to 4 years afterward.
When we no longer need it, we delete, destroy, or de-identify the information.
↑ Back to contentsSecurity
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information — encryption in transit, access controls, logging, vendor screening, and employee training. Card data is handled by a PCI-DSS-compliant processor and isn’t stored on our servers in unencrypted form.
No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee that information you send us won’t be intercepted. If we discover a breach, we’ll notify you and the appropriate authorities as the law requires.
↑ Back to contentsChildren
The site isn’t for kids. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 — and parts of the site are limited to users 21 or older. If you think a child has given us information, email dave@secondoften.com and we’ll delete it.
↑ Back to contentsYour State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:
- Right to know: what we’ve collected about you, where we got it, why we have it, and who we’ve shared it with.
- Right to correct: fix anything inaccurate.
- Right to delete: remove your info, with some exceptions (legal-retention rules, pending orders).
- Right to a copy: get a portable copy of the personal info you gave us.
- Right to opt out: stop us from “selling” or “sharing” your info or from using it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to limit: restrict use of sensitive personal information (where state law applies).
- Right against profiling: opt out of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
- Right against retaliation: we won’t punish you or treat you differently for using your rights.
To use any of these rights, email dave@secondoften.com. We’ll verify it’s really you (using info we already have, plus more if needed) and respond within the time the law requires — usually 45 days. You can also have an authorized agent submit on your behalf, with written proof.
These rights currently apply to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, with more states being added over time. Specific rights and exceptions vary by state.
↑ Back to contentsNotes for California and Florida Residents
California. We don’t sell your personal information for money, and we don’t currently share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and give you the opt-out mechanism the law requires. You can manage cookie preferences (including analytics) through our cookie preference center, and we honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal. We won’t discriminate against you for using your rights.
Florida. Under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights, qualifying Florida residents have rights similar to those listed in Section 14, plus the right to request a list of third parties we’ve shared your data with. Email dave@secondoften.com to use these rights.
↑ Back to contentsInternational Visitors
Our site is hosted and run in the United States. If you’re using it from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy law may be different from your home country. We don’t currently sell or ship products outside the U.S., and we don’t target the EEA, the U.K., or Switzerland. If you have specific data-protection questions, email dave@secondoften.com.
↑ Back to contentsLaw Enforcement and Firearms Records
We may share information with government agencies or law enforcement when we believe in good faith that the law requires it — subpoenas, court orders, search warrants — or when we need to protect ourselves, prevent fraud, or protect someone’s safety. Where it’s lawful, we’ll try to notify you of disclosure requests before responding.
Separately, FFL dealers who handle firearm shipments for you keep transfer records (including ATF Form 4473 and their A&D book) under federal law. They — not us — hold those records, and federal law requires them to keep those records for the periods federal law requires. Authorized inspectors can request them on a lawful basis.
↑ Back to contentsChanges to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll post the new version with a new effective date and, where the law requires, give additional notice (email or a banner on the site). If you keep using the site after the change, you’re accepting the updated policy.
