California Proposition 65

01 What Prop 65 is

California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, known as Proposition 65, requires businesses to provide a warning before knowingly exposing people in California to chemicals the State has listed as causing cancer or reproductive harm. It is a right-to-know law: a warning does not mean a product violates any safety standard.

02 Why firearm products carry it

Firearms, ammunition and many metal components can expose you to lead, which is on the Prop 65 list for both cancer and reproductive harm.

03 Where you will see it

We place this warning on product packaging and on product pages before purchase, so California customers see it before they buy.

04 Reducing exposure

Wash your hands after handling firearms, ammunition and cleaning products, and shoot in well-ventilated areas.
